Marjory Gane (1880 - 1974) was born in Yonkers, New York on March 8, 1880 to Sarah Jones and Thomas Gane, a book binder. The family later moved to Chicago, where Marjory attended Kirkland School before entering Smith College in 1897. Her sister Gertrude had attended Smith and graduated in 1894.
